Wrexham University invites applications from enthusiastic and committed individuals who can make a positive contribution to the work of the Board of Governors, at an exciting time for the institution.
We are currently looking to appoint new independent governors who share our core values, who come from a wide range of backgrounds and provide a broad range of knowledge, skills, and experience.
Governors need to bring particular behaviours to the Board and play an appropriate part in ensuring the necessary business is carried out efficiently, effectively and in a manner appropriate for the proper conduct of public business and charitable status.
Being a governor also provides opportunities to work collaboratively with existing governors, staff and students and play a key role in delivering the long-term vision and strategy of the university. The role also provides opportunities for personal development and building professional networks.
Please see our website and Candidate Information Pack for more information
If a full governor role is not for you at the current time but you are interested in developing your knowledge, skills and experience within Higher Education in a non-executive capacity there may be opportunities for co-option onto some of the Board’s committees as an external member. Co-opted roles focus on the remit of the committee and involve committee attendance of between three and five meetings per year depending on the committee schedule.
